Events
Several events per week! Want to come along?
Want to receive a weekly e-mail about future runs or hikes? E-mail StrollerHikes.
On
Mondays there is one of two events offered, depending on the week. On one week, we speed walk or jog John W Christian Geenbelt with Amy, and on alternating weeks, Amy leads us at varying hikes all over the Bay Area. See each event's description to determine the best modo of baby transport. Need some tips? Check out
Suiting Up.
On
Wednesdays we hike for about 1.5 hours (more or less, depending on group needs and trail length). See the descriptions of each event to see what type of baby transport is recommended, but most of these hikes tend to be more rural and less paved. Need some tips? Check out
Suiting Up.
On
Thursdays there are two separate events! In the
morning Jennifer leads us through some environmental education while enjoying Los Gatos Creek Trail. In the
afternoons, Debbie leads a hike for about 1.5 hours (more or less, depending on group needs) at a wide range of places. See the descriptions of each afternoon event to see what type of baby transport is recommended. Need some tips? Check out
Suiting Up.

John W Christian Greenbelt. Amy and little Adelina will lead a speed walk / jog along the lovely wide, paved greenbelt in Sunnyvale and Santa Clara. Dogs allowed but be sure they can manage on a faster-paced walk/run. We'll take a break around the halfway point for the trip, to play at the large playground for toddlers, along the greenbelt. Meet at the pedestrian bridge on Ahwanee Avenue and San Junipero Drive (the bridge is just NW of San Junipero Dr.). Here is a
Mapquest Map of the Starting Location. For more information about the trail, see the
John W Christian Greenbelt Webpage.
Wednesday, September 10th at
10 am we'll hike at
Rancho San Antonio in Cupertino/Los Altos Hills. Depending on the needs of the group, we'll do an almost entirely paved, flat path, or a hilly dirt path, both going to the farm, and possibly going past it. Meet at the upper parking lot where model airplanes are flown (just past the entrance, turn right, then left into the first parking area uphill from the lower two). For more information or directions, see the
Rancho San Antonio Page. Sorry, dogs not allowed. This hike is at least half shaded. Kristen and little Lillian will lead this hike; call Kristen at (408)410-7200 if you're running late.

Campbell Park and Los Gatos Creek Trail. Meet by the kiosk by the bridge in Campbell Park, located at the corner of Gilman Avenue and E Campbell Avenue. The path is entirely paved, so any baby transport will work. Jennifer comes with over a decade of experience leading nature hikes, so come ready to learn a little about the flora and fauna of the area. For directions and more information about the trail, see

Friday, September 12th come out for the
24th Annual Moonlight Run and Walk in Palo Alto! Stroller Hikes is not formally involved in this activity. This is a well attended family-friendly activity
sponsored by Palo Alto Weekly. Several Stroller Hikes parents have attended with
their babies and toddlers in the past. The event takes place at Palo
Alto Baylands and Byxbee Park, along the wider and flatter trails in
the area. Water stops occur along the two courses; one 5K, and the
other a USAT&F certified 10K. Pre-registration is $20 including a
bib number and a T-shirt while supplies last (after Sept 7 late
registration is $25), and children 12 and under run free (shirts for
them are $10, with adult small being the smallest size). For more
information or to register online, see
The Moonlight Walk and Run Webpage. Max and Debbie, Mimi and Lily, and other friends will be there to do the 5K Walk, which is early enough
not to mess up bedtime too much!
Monday, September 15th at
9:30 am we'll hike from
Sunnyvale's Baylands Park. Amy and little Adelina will lead this hike, which is entirely paved, so any stroller will work! Meet next to the recycled water test garden (take a left after entering the park). For more information or directions, see
the Baylands Page. Parking costs money at the park, but if you'd like free parking, park at the ball field next door (there's a dirt path leading from the sidewalk coming from the ball field to the recycled water garden).
Wednesday, September 17th at
10 am we'll hike at
Hidden Villa in Los Altos Hills. Enjoy the largely shaded hikes with rolling hills in this functioning farm that includes a tourable garden and animal pens. Meet at the farm's parking lot near their visitor center. Bring a suggested $5 donation for parking. Baby backpacks or carriers work best for the hike; if you just want to see the farm, a jogging stroller works fine and you'll be able to do the first part of the creekside trail. Sorry, dogs not allowed. For directions or more information, see
Hidden Villa Page. Kristen and little Lillian will lead this hike. Kristen's cell # is 408-410-7200 if you're running late.

4:30 pm at
Picchetti Open Space Preserve in Cupertino. Meet at the trailhead entrance on the West side of the parking lot (also the entrance to the winery). The trail is dirt on some rolling hills, but it gets narrow in spots, so a front carrier or backpack are best, but a jogger will work for most of the trail. Bring a few bucks (I think $5) and we can linger afterwards for wine tasting and snacks, if the hike doesn't go too late, or buy a bottle to bring home for dinner.
