Every Tuesday at 9 am Loren and little Angelo will lead a Toddler Trek at Guadalupe Oak Grove Park. We will meet at the Vargas Dr. Entrance which is a break in the fence with plenty of street parking. The walk is unpaved and stroller friendly. Dogs welcome. We will make a 1 mile loop stopping midway at a playground. This will be very unstructured with plenty of time for the kids to explore and collect treasures. If we are lucky we will see some squirrel friends, acorn woodpeckers, and maybe even a hummingbird. To find this trail head south on Almaden Expressway, take a right onto Coleman (just before Almaden Lake Park), then a left onto Recife Way. Recife Way will dead end at Vargas Dr. and the trail head. If are running late give Loren a call at 831-227-6737. Come join on our adventure!

Every Tuesday at 1:30 pm Amy and her two wee ones will lead a hike at a different location in the South Bay/ Peninsula Region. Please read descriptions below/click through links on the calendar to know what baby transport works best.

You are welcome to bring strollers or carriers if you think your child will get tired hiking. Younger children and babies, and pregnant moms welcome! See the specific details below or in the calendar for each event.

  • On the first and third Fridays of the month, Jenn will lead at Rancho San Antonio in Cupertino/Los Altos Hills. See the calendar or "Unique Events" below for more information, as occasionally starting locations differ.
  • On the second and fourth Fridays of the month, Jenn will lead at other sites in the Bay Area. These will be listed in the "Unique Events" below the calendar.
On the second Saturday of every month from the Spring through October, at 10 am join BetterBurlingame.org for the Family Fun Bike Ride in Burlingame. Tricycles, training wheels, and trailers are welcome! The ride starts at the parking lot of the Broadway Caltrain Station on California Drive. As described on BetterBurlingame.org's Website: " We bike over the new Broadway Bicycle-Pedestrian Overpass, and cruise along the Bayfront bike path for about a mile to the small City park next to the beautiful Anza Lagoon. Return trip: We retrace our route, ending up at Preston’s on Broadway for FREE ICE CREAM for all the kids."

We'll talk about farm animals and organic gardening. Meet at the farm's parking lot near their visitor center. Bring a suggested $5 donation for parking. Baby backpacks or carriers or a jogging stroller work best if your toddler doesn't want to walk. Sorry, dogs not allowed. For directions or more information, see Hidden Villa Page. Call Debbie at 650-776-1082 if you're running late.

Friday, March 5th at 9:45 am Jenn W. and little Scott will lead at Rancho San Antonio in Cupertino/Los Altos Hills. Meet at the main lower parking lot at the water fountain in front of the bathrooms(just past the entrance, turn right, then follow the road until it ends). For more information or directions, see the Rancho San Antonio Page. Sorry, dogs not allowed. The hike will be to the farm and back - about 2 miles, with a stop at the farm for a break. Prizes will be awarded to top males and females in age groups as well as top males and females with baby joggers. Walkers are welcome! Silent auction and raffle will also occur. For more information, visit www.jennyslight.org. Jenny's Light is a 501-c-3 public charity working to increasing awareness of all perinatal mood disorders, including postpartum depression. Register before mid-February for the lowest registration fees.

Tuesday, March 9th at 1:30 pm join Amy B. and her wee ones for a hike at Rancho San Antonio in Cupertino / Los Altos Hills. We'll do an almost entirely paved, flat path or a hilly, packed dirt route, depending on who attends. Both trails will go to the farm, and maybe past it. Any baby transport will work, and bikes or trikes can be used on the flat route. Meet at the upper parking lot where model airplanes are flown (just past the entrance, turn right, then left into the first parking area uphill from the lower two). For more information or directions, see the Rancho San Antonio Page. Sorry, dogs not allowed. This hike is at least half shaded. Call Amy at 408-368-7161 if you're running late.

Thursday, March 11th at 4:30 pm join Debbie and little Max for a Toddler Trek at Santa Teresa County Park in San Jose. Come out to see the wildflowers blooming, look for checkerspot butterflies, try to spy a deer, and find serpentine rock formations. Much of this route follows the Juan Bautista De Anza Trail. To get to the trailhead, take the Almaden Expressway exit from Highway 85, then travel south on Almaden Expressway. Turn right onto Harry Road, then left on McKean Road. Turn onto Fortini Road, then park at the dirt parking lot at the park entrance (where San Vicente Avenue also enters the park). The trail is a 2.5 mile loop; we'll follow Fortini Trail along the Santa Teresa Creek for almost a mile, then turn left on Mine Trail, then left on Stile Ranch Trail for some nice views and a return back to the parking lot. There is no parking fee at this park entrance. If you're running late, call Debbie at 650-776-1082. This is a Santa Clara County Healthy Trails outing.

For more information or directions, see the Rancho San Antonio Page. Sorry, dogs not allowed. We'll get a little hill workout, climbing the hill from the equestrian parking lot to the water tower, then enjoying the fun turns downhill to the farm, where we'll have a break. The hill is tough for toddlers to walk, so bring a carrier or stroller for the first part of the hike.
