Hikes To Avoid

Why these hikes don't make the cut:

These hikes are either not stroller-friendly, pose significant hazards to babies or their parents, or are too short. They may also not meet some other criteria. Each hike is listed with a reason it didn't make the cut. If you feel this list is in error, e-mail me!

Hikes / Hiking Areas

  • Edgewood Park (Redwood City / Hwy 280) - Trails are very narrow with poison oak almost spilling onto trails; tight switch backs, ruts.
  • Pulgas Park (Redwood City / Hwy 280) - Walk to the first bench is nice, but too short to make a good hike; trails that follow are rutted, have tight switch-backs, can be very narrow.
  • Santa Teresa Park (San Jose) - Trails beginning at high altitude entrance on main side of park. Very steep trails, ruts and fissures.
