Wunderlich
Location
Wunderlich Park is located in Woodside, at 4040 Woodside Road. To get there from Hwy 280 take either (A) Hwy 84 / Woodside Road towards Woodside, or
(B) Sand Hill Road towards Portola / Woodside, then turn right on Portola Road which becomes Woodside Road. The park is on the Southwest side of the road,
near where Portola Road, La Honda Road, and Woodside Road intersect.
Attractions:
- Wunderlich is almost entirely shady, a great place to retreat to in the summer.
- Hike in the shelter of Douglas Fir and Redwood Trees, amongst ferns, mosses, and wildflowers.
- There is are historical buildings here, including Folger Stable.
- Woodside is prime equestrian country, so horse viewing is quite likely. A horse training field is next to the parking area, where you can watch horses and riders.
- Wildlife includes butterflies, squirrels, and birds.
- Wunderlich Trails offer lovely views of some of the most desirable properties in the Bay Area, nestled in the hills.
Limitations:
- The hiking trails are not suitable for most strollers - too many roots and holes in the trail. See trail description below for more details.
- No dogs allowed.
- No bicycles allowed beyond the parking lot and paved areas.
- Horses use many of these trails, so be prepared to see and smell some horse poop.
- Beware of poison oak and ticks in this area.

Handicapped Access:
The area around the historical buildings is handicapped accessible, but the trails are too steep and rutted to be accessible.
